The walks take you along part or all of the 285km WW2 escape trail – The Crow’s Flight. Travellers retrace the steps taken by WW2 escapees and Slovenian freedom fighters, the Partisans, over hilly and at times steep and uneven terrain. Depending on the tour, walkers need to be able to walk between 9km and 35km each day over varied terrain sometimes suitable for only experienced trekkers. Walkers are able to take breaks by taking advantage of courtesy vehicles. Walkers should use the vehicles in the event of injury or other constraints.
During summer temperatures can be variable rising to nearly 34 degree Celsius in extremes. Use sun protection, wear layers of clothing to combat heat and cold and drink lots of water. A light daypack is recommended for water and personal items.
Although your main luggage will be transported daily, you will need to be able to carry it to loading points. It should be easy to lift and carry across stone streets and uneven surfaces.
Accommodation is twin share for couples; single travellers will also be provided with separate rooms unless they request to share with someone. It’s a great opportunity to get to know like-minded people.
Our leaders over the 11 days are two experienced Slovenian adventure tour guides.
