In 1944 Australian Ralph Churches and Englishman Les Laws led the largest break-out of Allied prisoners of war in the history of World War 2. With the help of local partisans about 100 escapees travelled 180 miles across mountainous Slovenian terrain to freedom . . . on foot.

Neil Churches, son of WW2 hero Ralph, established The Crow’s Flight in memory of his Dad and the Partisans who successfully saved the lives of about 100 UK, NZ, French and Australian escapees. Neil joins parts of selected tours to recount his Dad’s legendary escape.

Spela Strasser

The Partisan Guide

A state cross-country skiing champion in her youth, Spela Strasser, is also the granddaughter of Partisans. When not Nordic walking, mountain biking or cross-country skiing, Spela is guiding guests through the beauty and history of Slovenia.

Matej Pistor

Slovenia’s Mountain Man

Matej Pistor, is a Slovenian Cup mountain bike winner, cross country skier and outdoorsman. He grew up in the alpine regions of Slovenia and is delighted to be leading guests on this historic tour of Slovenia’s history and people.
